It is 7:30pm.
We are in pitch black light off conditions. I had my Ipad charged so I am typing this in the dark in the volunteer room. Many of the families are outside, there is a chorus of children singing church songs.
Today Kwame and I went out with Pastor Belinda and her friend Michele and two local pastors. We visited some arts and crafts places and then we had a nice lunch at the University of Ghana Guest Dining Center in nearby West Legon.
The equator sun continues to be intense. We have a good strong breeze at night which helps cool the compound.
We are ready for the excursion tomorrow, should be an exciting day for the children. We have to go by trotro, (we have 2 reserved at 9:15am), about 15 kilometers across Accra, to the Osu area which is by the waters edge.
We are going to be right by the Independence Square were all the big celebrations, parades, political rallies happen in Ghana. I will take a poll tomorrow to find out how many children have been to that part of Accra before.
On Thursday the children will write sponsor letters. Currently we have 40 out of 60 children sponsored. The children who are not sponsored will write letters to the lady who provided all the uniforms.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Thanks to all the sponsors ! Your support is definitely impacting the lives of these children. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I sat in the back area with Ceci and Stefan for about two hours late this afternoon. It is very relaxing back there especially when the house next door which has a " bar" on the patio is not crowded. The breeze is very strong on the back side of the house , it is very cool.
I arrived last Tuesday, the week has gone by very fast.
Thanks for your emails and FB posts, I appreciate your company along this journey.
