It has been a long day, non stop fro 7:30am to now, 7:38pm. Stefan and I are sitting on the school porch enjoying a wonderful cool evening breeze as I type this update.
Today we had WORSHIP, every Friday the school day begins with the children singing wonderful gospel type songs in their native language mostly. Some songs are in English. Kwame then shares a message with them and read passages from the bible. After Worship we had ICT classes, Information and Communications Technology = then we had the lunch break, then we finished the school day with the movie Dolphin Tales.
Throughout the day I worked in the office organizing the files, I helped with the upcoming exam preparation and also did the count and audit of the permissions slips for Monday Excursions. The children are so excited. We also went to the mall to get flash drives for Hannah and the school.
I met one of Kwame's friends, Alwyn Thomas. He lives in Ghana part time, he is from New York via the Virgin Islands. He has been coming to Ghana for along time and knows lots of about Accra, the night life, local customs, culture, I've had several very interesting and insightful conversations with him. Remind me to write about the compost toilet set up.
Just a few minutes ago, Stefan helped me get all the dresses and shirts ready that we are going to give to the children on MOnday after the excursion. I will take pictures for sure. Annette I will give you a full update when I get home.
Tomorrow we are going to the largest public market in Accra, Makalo, or Makola - I will update with the correct spelling, the tripadvisor reviews say ... it is amazing, overwhelming, crowded, hot, and that they sell everything in outdoor stalls... E V E R Y T H I N G.
Thanks for the messages, emails and texts. Sorry to any typos ... I am going fast tonight. I am tired and ready to take my outdoor shower and go to bed.
